I have been served as a project manager and led the team in addressing socio-economic and environmental aspects and foster a climate-conscious mindset within the Thampaddy fishing village community in Northern Sri Lanka. We have done focus group discussions in order to identify the current issues of them. Income generating activities like involving women in fishing sector, introducing smart tools and processing technologies were introduced to the community with hands on training sessions.
Further, we have rendered youth empowerment and capacity development programs to uplift the younger generation. Some potential job opportunities like eco-tourism were discussed with them.
