I am being coordinating to rural ponds rejuvenation projects under YWP. A rural pond was selected in the village named Thellipalai to rejuvenate with the support of farmers and other beneficiaries. Youth groups from the village joined hands together with us to make this change happen in a efficient sustainable way. They are monitoring the water levels weekly of the pond and adjacent 30 wells located within 50m proximity of this pond. Existing ecology in the pond; plants, species, habitats has been mapped. Further, beneficiary communities (farmers, fishermen, washerman) were engaged in Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and their requirements and current situations identified.
